View asset onlyAUGUST, 1947: MELBOURNE, VIC. Following his stunt of walking blindfolded around the parapet of a city building, Tivoli artist Vic Perry accepts a challenge by the Australian Society of Magicians to unearth a package hidden in the city within a radius of the Tivoli Theatre in Melbourne, Victoria. The conditions were that he should be blindfolded and that he should be followed by Mr Stan Craige, representing the magicians. A large lunch-hour crowd followed Perry in his search, during which he narrowly escaped being run down by a tram, until he unearthed the object hidden in a fruit barrow in Elizabeth Street. 'It's all done by mental telepathy,' he said with a wink.
